Element 119 Receives Outstanding Community Business Award

Advanced Ceramic Coating Manufacturer Named Plainville’s Outstanding Community Business at Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce 135th Annual Awards Dinner

These achievements are the direct result of Element 119’s dedication to quality, the talent and hard work of our entire team, and a fantastic, mutually supportive relationship with our community

BRISTOL, CT—On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce recognized Element 119 LLC, of 60 Johnson Avenue, as Plainville’s Outstanding Community Business. The award was presented during the chambers’ 135th Annual Awards Dinner at the Bristol Event Center.

“We thank you for everything you have done for the central region, the residents of our communities, and for all you have done for the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce,” said Katie D’Agostino, President and CEO of the Central CT Chambers. “We congratulate you!”

Element 119, a USA-made producer of advanced ceramic nano coatings for the automotive, aerospace, and marine markets, moved into its 123,000-square-foot facility in Plainville in July 2024. The company got its start back in 2010, solving a persistent problem for Sikorsky — paint fouling around helicopter exhaust ports. While competitors’ solutions melted off after the first flight, Element 119 founder and head formulator Andrew Zeppa devised a coating that withstands temperatures to 1,000º F. That solution became the foundation of the System X™ line of ceramic coatings known and respected throughout the industry today.

In addition to quality products, Element 119 also creates custom solutions to meet specific customer needs. Clients include Fortune 500 companies and the U.S. Military.

Last year, Element 119 received the President’s “E” Award for Exports from the U.S. Department of Commerce, was recognized as a Top 100 U.S. Small Business by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and earned numerous exporting awards from the Connecticut District Export Council. In 2023, the company was named New England Small Business Exporter of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Association.

“These achievements are the direct result of Element 119’s dedication to quality, the talent and hard work of our entire team, and a fantastic, mutually supportive relationship with our community,” according to Andrew Zeppa.
